Dale Ippolito, 51, killed after he is struck by a SUV while trying to cross the southbound John Young Parkway in Orlando, Florida

A pedestrian was killed while crossing John Young Parkway Monday night, according to police. Dale Ippolito, 51, was attempting to cross the street without utilizing a crosswalk or intersection when he was struck by a vehicle heading southbound on the interstate. Witnesses say that Ippolito walked directly in front of an SUV heading southbound on the road. Ippolito was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, and the crash is still under investigation.
