According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the officer was traveling north on OBT and the cruiser's lights and sirens were on. The cruiser crashed into a Toyota Corolla, which had the green light, troopers said.
Ocoee police said the officer was chasing a vehicle wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Altamonte Springs when the police car crashed into another vehicle at Holden Avenue. The car being chased got away, police said.
This Is Why Even Cops Aren't Supposed To Run Red Lights
The Dodge Charger cop car ended up just as mangled as the blue Toyota Corolla it hit, but both Ocoee Officer Chris Bonner and civilian Yahaira Montalvo survived. The suspects Officer Bonner was pursuing escaped.
