3 KILLED IN HELICOPTER CRASH IN FLORIDA

The Sikorsky S-61N crashed approximately 10 miles southwest of the Melbourne International Airport this afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

The crash reportedly happened near Osmosis Drive and Degroodt Road in Palm Bay, authorities said. First responders arrived around 2 p.m. to the scene.

Witness Jay Jefferson captured video of the crash, minutes after the helicopter went down into a field about 12 miles south of Melbourne International Airport.

Cluff, and the other two were employees of the company, were killed instantly when the helicopter slammed into the open field in a southwestern section of the city about eight miles from the Orlando Melbourne International Airport where it took off about 16 minutes before, reports show.

Greggory Cluff, 57, of Melbourne; Bill Nesbitt, 55, of Idaho; and Jason Dunnam, 45, of Mississippi, were the men identified on the military-style helicopter when it crashed earlier this month on September 6 in Palm Bay.
