Dylan S. Bryant was riding a scooter when he was hit and killed by someone driving a car who crashed not far from the scene Wednesday night. The driver then fled the scene of the second accident before the arrival of law enforcement officials. The scooter driver and a Nissan Maxima were both heading northbound on County Road 200A when the vehicle struck the scooter from behind and ran over the driver. The driver was dragged to the intersection, while the car kept on going. The scooter continued traveling another 50 yards from the driver’s body and crashed into a chain-link fence, where it caught fire. The Nissan driver then continued on CR 200A before crashing into Sparr Building and Farm Supply and overturned. The driver of the Nissan then fled the scene. The scooter rider was pronounced dead on scene. It is being reported that the Nissan was a rental car.
