A fatal crash involving a pedestrian shut down the westbound lanes of U.S. 192 west of Walt Disney World on Thursday morning.

It was shortly before 2:00 a.m. when 26-year-old Camille Champagne was crossing U.S. 192 in a marked crosswalk at the intersection with Vista Del Lago Boulevard, and was struck by a westbound SUV driven by Diego Jara, 26. Champagne was declared dead at the scene of the accident, but neither Jara nor his 22-year-old passenger Courtney Randolph were injured in the collision. Investigation continues to determine whether Jara was at fault and if he will be charged.
