Peggy Friske, 50, and Matthew Friske, 54, killed in motorcycle crash with vehicle on U.S. Highway 231 and Linger Longer Road in Bay County, Florida

The statement, sent Saturday night, said charges are pending as the crash continues to be investigated by Florida Patrol. A statement from Florida Highway Patrol said Peggy Friske, 50, of Cottonwood, died on the scene of a wreck that happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 231, north of Linger Longer Road, in Bay County, Florida. The statement said Matthew Friske was transported to Bay Medical Center and listed in critical condition. According to the statement, the 2007 Harley Davidson Softtail on which she was riding with Matthew Friske, 54, also of Cottonwood, collided with a 2008 Chevrolet HHR driven by Panama City resident Stephen Garrison.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the crash initially only claimed the life of Peggy Thomas Friske, 50, of Cottonwood. The crash happened on U.S. 231, just north of Linger Longer Road, around 4:30 p.m. The report said the crash happened when the 2007 Harley-Davidson ridden by Matthew Friske was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet HHR occupied by two Panama City, Florida teenagers. An updated statement released Thursday afternoon said Matthew David Friske, 54, of Cottonwood was pronounced dead Wednesday night at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Florida. The report said the crash happened after the Chevrolet driven by Garrison attempted to turn around to travel north and entered the southbound lanes of traffic, traveling into the path of the motorcycle.
