Bicyclist, 33, killed when car strikes him on U.S. 231 in Panama City, Florida
UPDATE: Bicyclist dies in crash on 231; officer nearly struck securing scene
PCPD reported that the male 33-year-old bicyclist, who has yet to be identified pending notification of next of kin, was riding north on the roadway of U.S. 231 at about 12:30 a.m. A female driver of a Volkswagen Jetta, whose identity also has not been released, was traveling in the same direction in the inside lane of U.S. 231 near the intersection of State 390 when she ran into the rear of the bicyclist, PCPD reported. The Jetta traveled north on the inside lane and the driver told police she didn’t see the man on the bicycle.
