A 17-year-old girl was critically injured in a rollover crash that closed a portion of southbound U.S. 19 early this morning.

Investigators say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is on-going.

The Largo Police Department traffic homicide unit responded to the rollover crash at 4:11 a.m.
It was approximately 4:10 a.m. when a 17-year-old girl who was driving south on U.S. 19 somehow lost control of her vehicle, and it began to roll. The girl, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, which came to rest at the intersection with Frontage Road. She was taken to the hospital with injuries described as "major".
