Motorcyclist killed in Largo crash

The crash happened at 5:47 p.m. in the 700 block of Starkey Road. According to Largo police, the motorcyclist was traveling south on Starkey Road when a northbound 2005 Mercury turned left into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the motorcyclist's name, pending the notification of next of kin. The investigation continues, but no criminal charges are expected, police say.

Motorcyclist dies in crash, Largo Police investigating

LARGO, Fla. -- On Saturday evening, just before 6:00 p.m., the Largo Police Department Traffic Homicide Team responded to the 700 block of Starkey Rd for a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. The motorcycle, a 1983 Honda, was headed southbound on Starkey Rd when a 2005 Mercury -- headed northbound -- turned west into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and is not being named at this time pending next of kin notification. The investigation is on-going at this time but no criminal charges are expected.
