A Spring Hill man, Gary Alan Hetman, 49, died Wednesday morning following a hit-and-run accident in Holiday, Florida. The accident occured on U.S. 19 and Mile Stretch Drive, where Hetman walked west across U.S.
Janet Helwig, of Clearwater, was struck by a Buick Century around 9:15 p.m. on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard at Meteor Avenue near Clearwater High School. The driver, Omar Escamilla, is not expected to be charged.
A small plane crashed in Hillsborough Bay, around 3 miles south of Peter O. Knight Airport. The pilot was identified as Robert Kerrigan and his passenger as Eric Olinger.The crash is under investigation.
