UPDATE: Child dies after being struck by vehicle
The 10 year old girl who was struck will be transported to Atlanta for treatment.
Three children, who live close to Turner Elementary School, were on their way to school when the accident happened.
Albany children struck, community mourns after child dies
The driver involved in the fatal accident is Montavious Johnson, 26.
Albany police said the preliminary investigation shows the children walked into the path of the car, and Johnson did not see them.
So far, no charges have been filed.
