Crash injures 4 including Union City officer

"As far as we know, everybody's in stable condition," said Detective Gloria Hodgson with Union City Police. "We don't know any further than that at this time."

A car crash in south Fulton County injured four people, including James Messer, a Union County police officer. The accident took place Monday morning on South Fulton Parkway at Cascade Palmetto Highway. Multiple vehicles were involved in the wreck, including a marked police SUV. A bright sky during morning rush hour may have been one of the causes leading to the accident. Officer Messer and the three others were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. A K9, “Pluto,” was in the vehicle with the officer and was taken to a nearby veterinarian. The Union City Police Department announced Monday afternoon that Messer could be released from the hospital soon but no details are released at this time about the other three people involved in the accident.
