"We extend our love and prayers in behalf of their families and loved ones at this difficult time," Eric Hawkins, a Church spokesman, said in the statement.
Natalie Barnard, 20 and Rachel Beckstrom, 19, were involvied in the crash on Matt Highway Friday afternoon, which occurred when a car driven by Barnard was crushed by a tractor-trailer as she was pulling out of a driveway. Natalie was killed and Beckstrom suffered serious injuries. The two were in Atlanta doing missionary work for the Church of Latter Day Saints, and the women were working when the crash happened. Beckstrom is listed in critical condition at the Atlanta Medical Center.
