DECATUR, Ga. — Fire officials say at least a dozen people have been injured after a bus collided with another vehicle and slammed into a building just east of Atlanta. Authorities say the wreck happened before dawn Tuesday. DeKalb County fire Capt. Eric Jackson tells WSB-TV at least 12 people were injured in the crash. Video from WSB-TV showed the intersection completely blocked by several ambulances and emergency vehicles as traffic was detoured through a parking lot.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue says several people were injured this morning in a multi vehicle accident at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Candler Road. The Emory bus crashed into a tax preparation office, which was unoccupied at the time. The accident involved an Emory bus carrying 15 people, an ambulance and another vehicle. There were eight people on the bus that were transported to the hospital, as well as a person in the vehicle and a person in the ambulance. Ambulance driver involved in crash not licensed to work on ambulance Posted: Updated: A collision sent an Emory bus crashing into a DeKalb County business after police say the driver of a medical transport van fell asleep behind the wheel. According to police, the vehicle is registered to Select Choice Medical Transport in Decatur. CBS46 has learned the driver, 20-year-old Lamonte Weaver, is not licensed to work on an ambulance. Police said Weaver, the driver of a medical transport vehicle, fell asleep, ran a red light, and hit an Emory bus carrying 12 people. The name on the ambulance said Urgent Care Medical Transport, which is based in Lithonia.
