Three students were taken to University Hospital in McDuffie County by ambulance. The driver of the truck was taken to Augusta University Medical Center. The rest of the students, the bus driver and bus monitor were put on a different bus and taken to University Hospital in McDuffie County as a precaution.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, fifty-three-year-old Ronnie Wayne Langham of Thomson is being charged with failing to yield after stopping at a stop sign.
