Savannah couple killed in plane crash fondly remembered

Catherine and Byron Cocke's charter flight left from the airport around 9:30 Monday morning. They are being remembered as a 'shining light' in the community.    

Pilot reported engine trouble before deadly Georgia crash

John Brannen of the National Transportation Safety Board said during a news conference Tuesday that pilot Randy Hunter was trying to return to the Savannah airport just minutes after taking off when his plane crashed in neighboring Bryan County.   

Memorial arrangements set for Savannah couple killed in plane crash

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2 at St. John’s Church in Savannah, and a reception will follow at the Green Meldrim House.
