Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating the death of an 11-year-old boy who died after being struck by an SUV Wednesday morning.

Joshua Powell, 11, was pronounced dead at Memorial University Medical Center after he was hit by a 2013 Dodge Durango about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday. It is believed that Powell ran into the roadway on Quacco Road near Highland Woods Drive, where he was struck by an SUV driven by a 26-year-old Savannah woman.
