Big Island police seek information on fatal vehicle crash in Ocean View

A 29-year-old moped rider died in a vehicle crash in Ocean View on Tuesday night, Big Island police said. Police said the vehicle didn’t yield the right of way at the intersection of Paradise Parkway and Kona Drive. The victim was identified as Ling Oniel, of Ocean View. Police have launched a negligent homicide investigation and are looking for any tips from anyone who may have witnessed the crash. Oniel, who was traveling west on Kona Drive, was struck by a sedan – possibly a white Honda Civic -- that was going north on Paradise Parkway.
