Motorcyclist in critical condition after early morning collision on H-1 freeway

According to the Honolulu Police Department, the man was apparently changing lanes when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided into a metal guard rail. The man sustained major head and internal injuries.

Police say the 26-year old motorcyclist, Nathan Varner of Ewa Beach, was attempting to change lanes and lost control, colliding into a guardrail.

Varner is the son of Michael and Danilee Varner. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Funeral Home in Moravia. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m.

A 26-year-old Honolulu man is in extremely critical condition after an early morning collision on the H-1 freeway Sunday. Officials say the man was traveling west on the H-1 freeway near Middle Street shortly before 3 a.m. Emergency Medical Services officials transported the man to Queen's Hospital in extremely critical condition.
