Authorities are investigating after a man, 46, was killed after being struck by a car in Kahului. The man was walking on Hana Highway near Hookele Street when he was hit by a car around 4 p.m. on Wednesday. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced deceased. The 21-year-old driver had swerved to the right to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front that had slowed down in traffic.
