Maui cop accused in hit-and-run accident on East Kamehameha Avenue and Hana Highway in Kahului, Hawaii

A woman says she was stopped at a red light on East Kamehameha Avenue and Hana Highway when she was rear-ended. The vehicle that struck her fled the scene quickly but the woman says she was able to memorize the license plate. Sources say that the license plate number she found was registered to the Maui Police Department and is an undercover cop vehicle. The Maui police are denying any involvement and won't release a copy of the police report to the victim, or the press.
