The operator of the van, a 44-year-old male from Kailua, Hawaii, and a 44-year-old female passenger from Honolulu were both wearing their seatbelts and were not injured in the collision.
The pedestrian has since been identified, following the notification of next of kin, as Paul Daniel Dease, 44, originally from Lake Wales, Fla.
