Ronald Cardwell, 36, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., was driving a 2006 Jeep Commander southbound on the highway. His vehicle drove left off the center line and struck a northbound 2016 Freightliner pulling a 2015 Great Dane trailer driven by Matthew A. Martin, 36, of Salt Lake City, UT.
The vehicles collided head-on, and both vehicles came to rest off the southbound shoulder of the roadway, near milepost 376.
