Motorcyclist killed in Channahon crash identified

"It appears he was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control where the road curves and went into the ditch," Wold said.
The man killed in a motorcycle crash early Friday has been identified as Timothy J. Connolly, 41, of Channahon. Police Chief Jeff Wold said two people were riding a Suzuki motorcycle at about 1:40 a.m. on Center Street near Route 6. Neither Connolly nor his passenger, an adult woman, were wearing helmets, Wold said. "It appears he was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control where the road curves and went into the ditch," Wold said. Connolly was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m. The Will County Coroner's office released Connolly's name on Friday afternoon after family was notified. His passenger was listed in serious condition Friday morning, but was expected to survive, Wold said.
