The accident happened just after 10 p.m. Thursday when the driver of a Ford Crown Victoria traveling south on Torrence Avenue near 116th Street lost control and hit a curb and fire hydrant before flipping over and striking a fence and the front porch of a two-story home.

Two passengers, ages 18 and 20, were injured. They are now listed in stable condition at Christ Hospital.It took an hour for rescue crews to pull all three of the men from the wreckage.

A car accident killed driver Devon Steele, 19, and critically injured  two male passengers, ages 18 and 20. Thursday night in the South Deering neighborhood. Their vehicle collided with a fire hydrant and then crashed into the porch of a house in the 11600 block of South Torrence Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Steele was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The two passengers were transported in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
