South Side crash kills 10-year-old boy, injures 2 others, police say

A 10-year-old boy was killed in a crash in the city's South Side early Saturday morning, police said.The crash occurred in the 3600-block of West Marquette around 4:08 a.m. when a white caravan traveling westbound on Marquette struck a support beam of a viaduct, police said.The driver, a 32-year-old man, was hospitalized in serious condition and a 13-year-old girl was transported in stable condition. Police say the 10-year-old boy was pronounced dead at a local hospital.Police are continuing to investigate.

10-year-old boy killed, two others injured in SW side crash

The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Carlos Rodriguez of the 5200 block of South Francisco.
