A Coal City man was critically injured when his SUV rolled over early Thursday.
A Coal City man was critically injured when his SUV rolled over early Thursday.
Shortly after 2 a.m. police and firefighters were called to Manteno Road and Route 102 where a silver 2001 Chevrolet Blazer had rolled over on the driver’s side.
Will County Sheriff’s traffic investigators reported the 23-year-old driver was southbound on Manteno Road when “he failed to negotiate a curve ... drove into the ditch on the right side, rolled the vehicle and was ejected.”
The driver suffered a broken neck, broken back and head trauma.
He was taken to Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee in critical condition and underwent surgery.
Riverside staff said the patient was transferred to Loyola Medical Center later in the day.
