1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured In HarveyCrash

CHICAGO (CBS) — One person was killed and two others were critically injured late Wednesday night, when a car slammed into a semi-tractor trailer truck in south suburban Harvey. The car was headed east on 159th Street around 11 p.m., and the truck was pulling into traffic from a railyard near West Avenue. A Nissan carrying three young men in their 20s slammed into the semi, and became wedged under the trailer, trapping all three men inside. Neighbors said it happened at a spot that has a lot of near misses. The busy road where the crash happened recently was widened to accommodate the constant truck traffic.

1 Man Dead, 2 Hospitalized in South Suburban Harvey Crash

A crash involving a car and a semi-truck in south suburban Harvey left one man dead and two others injured Wednesday night. Speed and possibly texting are believed to have been factors in the crash, according to Howard. The driver was going 60 to 75 miles an hour leading up to the fatal accident. It is not yet known whether the three men were wearing seatbelts at the time. The fatal accident happened on 159th Street when a truck driver attempted to make a left turn, and a nearby Nissan Maxima crashed directly under the trailer,  according to city spokesperson Sean Howard.
