Drivers Laura Hoppman, 32 and Matthew McHugh, 42 collided and injured passengers in both car near Highway 20 and North Main St. in East Dubuque, Illinois

Six people were seriously hurt after a two vehicle crash in Jo Daviess County on Saturday. The accident occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m., near the corner for Highway 20 and North Main St. in East Dubuque. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Matthew McHugh, 42, was driving in the right Eastbound lane of Highway 20. McHugh attempted to make an improper turn and smashed into a car driven by Laura Hoppman, 32, with two children passengers, in the left lane. Hoppman and the two children in her vehicle were taken to Finley Hospital. McHugh was not injured, but three passengers in his vehicle were taken to Mercy Hospital. The victims conditions have not been released.
