Car rams into tree, two people dead in Rock Island
Neighbors Tell News 8 that the SUV caught on fire after hitting the tree. They tried putting it out with hoses and several people checked on the passengers before police showed up.
Update: Victims of Tuesday's fatal Rock Island crash identified
The SUV the victims were in was eastbound on 16th Avenue when it went off the roadway, crashed into a tree then caught fire.
