The Mazda pickup driven by Scott W. Brown was northbound, behind a Freightliner. The pickup was in the left lane, the Freightliner in the right. Brown said he fell asleep. His vehicle then drifted into the Freightliner's lane and struck the rear most trailer of the two attached. The pickup left the roadway, entered the median and overturned on its top.
