Illinois State Police in Sterling said the 16-year-old boy and girl were on their way to a sectional high school basketball game between the ACC Chargers and Marengo in Rochelle.

State Police say the tractor-trailer was in the intersection and attempting to make a left turn when it was hit, and did have a green arrow, but add there was heavy fog in the area at the time and that did play a role in the crash.

Eggers' funeral will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurora. Bradford's funeral will be at St. Rita of Cascia, also in Aurora.
Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, a car collided with a semi-truck in foggy conditions on Route 38 and Dement Road near Rochelle. Six people were in the car at the time of the crash, and two died as a result of their injuries. The truck driver was unhurt. The victims have been identified as Seth Egger and Ally Bradford, both 16 and students at Aurora Central Catholic High School. The accident occurred when a 2005 White Acura SUV carrying six students ran a red led on Route 38 and struck a semi truck driven by a 56-year-old man from Des Plaines. Two 17-year-olds and four 16-year-olds were in the Acura, driven by one of the 17-year-olds, who was issued a ticket. Egger was in the front passenger's seat and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bradford was sitting in the back seat behind the driver and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The driver was also injured, but he is repordedly in stable condition in the ICU unit of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. The three other students declined treatment. They were on their way to a school basketball game when the accident happened.
