Motorcyclist dead following crash
According to a report from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened around 5 p.m. Saturday at the south junction of U.S. 6 and U.S. 421 when a minivan allegedly pulled into the path of the motorcycle driven by Filippini, who was ejected after striking the side of the vehicle. He was transferred in critical condition to Porter Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris
