Police said two 12-year-old girls were injured in an off-road vehicle crash in Wells County Friday night. One of the girls was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition after she was pinned underneath the ORV.
Police said two 12-year-old girls were injured in an off-road vehicle crash in Wells County Friday night. One of the girls was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition after she was pinned underneath the ORV. According to Indiana Department of Natural Resources officers, Trinity Wine, 12, of Keystone, was driving a Polaris Ranger with passenger Tess Gilbert, 12, of Warren, on private property in the area of 1500 E. 900 S. in Keystone shortly before 7 p.m. Friday. Officers said the ORV rolled over after Wine lost control of it on a gravel driveway. Both girls were ejected and Wine was pinned underneath the ORV. Gilbert was taken to Bluffton Regional Medical Center for treatment of a back injury. Wine was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne in serious condition for treatment of head and internal injuries. Neither girl was wearing a seatbelt or helmet, according to investigators. Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted on scene by the Wells County Sheriff’s Department, Wells County EMS, Nottingham Fire Rescue and Chester Fire Rescue.
