A female adolescent sitting on the passenger side in the rear seat was flown to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis with life-threatening injuries, State Police said. She died Friday evening.

Five dead following crash near Peru, Indiana

Five people are dead after a crossover crash Friday near Peru, Indiana.
At about 8:45am, a the driver of a Jaguar containing five people was traveling southbound on U.S. 31 when they lost control and veered across the median into the northbound lanes. They were then in the path of an oncoming semi-truck driven by William Stump, 41, who tried to avoid their vehicle by swerving to the right, but the front of the semi-truck still collided with driver's side of the Jaguar. The immense force of the collision left four of the five in the Jaguar dead at the scene, and the only survivor sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. Stump sustained minor injuries in the crash and has already been treated and released. Check back for updates.
