Minor injuries reported after mini-van and fire truck collide at intersection in Marion County.
Minor injury reported after minivan, IFD truck.
Only minor injuries were reported after a minivan and an Indianapolis Fire Department truck collided Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at West 24th Street and North Meridian Street around 9:15 a.m. According to fire officials, an IFD rescue squad had just finished a run, had its lights off, and was attempting to make a left hand turn to go north on Meridian Street. Two firefighters were on board the truck.
Authorities say the two lanes of southbound traffic on Meridian Street had stopped as a courtesy for the truck. As it pulled out, a minivan pulled around the two lanes of traffic, into the middle turn lane to go around, and made contact with the truck.
The firefighters were OK. The driver of the minivan had a small cut on his face and received medical attention at the scene.
