An Indianapolis Metropolitan police officer was arrested on preliminary operating while intoxicated charges after refusing a breathalyzer exam on Thursday morning.
Probationary IMPD officer arrested on DUI charge
Probationary Officer Wesley Ryder II was arrested by Indiana State Police at 4:30 a.m. while allegedly driving the wrong way on I-465 near the 42 mile marker.
Wesley Ryder II was driving on Interstate 465 at 4:30 a.m. when he crossed the median and struck a pickup truck in the opposite lane. The driver of the pickup recieved minor injuries, and was treated at the scene and released. Ryder refused to take a portabe breathalyzer exam and was taken to the Arrestee Processing Center. Blood test results are pending, and the accident is still under investigation.
