“We believe, based on witness statements, that the Honda tried to clear the intersection through on-coming traffic,” Floyd County Police OFC Brad Scott said Friday. “The oncoming traffic had the green light.” “They were hit directly,” Swan said. “T-boned in the passenger door. No matter how much heart you have, physically you can't absorb that sort of hit.”
The fatal crash occurred when a Honda driven by Brittany Workman, 27, collided with a Ford pickup truck driven by Austin Lods, 18, at the intersection of Charlestown Road and Kamer Miller Road on Thursday evening. The crash propelled the two vehicles to collide with a third vehicle.
