Western Indiana car crash kills 2 high school students

Students at a western Indiana high school are mourning the deaths of two classmates who were fatally injured in a car crash that also left a third student hospitalized.

Gerry Jones, 18, died Friday morning at an Indianapolis hospital from injuries he sustained in the fatal crash Tuesday night. The car’s driver, 18-year-old Andrea Miller, was pronounced deceased at the crash site in Terre Haute. Eighteen-year-old Garrett Smith was injured in the accident and is listed in good condition. All three are students at Terre Haute South Vigo High School. Authorities say their vehicle exited a roadway, collided with a tree, rolled down an embankment, and then into a creek.
