One killed in Bremer County crash

BREMER COUNTY '€” The driver of a car died in a crash with a pickup truck Monday morning northwest of Sumner. A release from detective Dave MacDonald with the Bremer County Sheriff'€™s Office said 44-year-old Dawn Novak, of Sumner, was driving south on Usher Avenue when she crashed with a pickup, driven by 47-year-old Logan Huebner, in the middle of the 110th Street intersection. Novak was pronounced dead at the scene, while Huebner and his passenger, Dylan Berge, were taken to Sumner Community Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, authorities said. MacDonald said '€œit appears possible that tall corn growing in the area may have played a part'€ in the crash. No charges have been filed, though the sheriff'€™s office said the case remains under investigation.
