Alexandra Benson, 22, dies of her injuries, after her car crashes into another vehicle on Jackson Street in Dubuque, while trying to flee from police during a traffic stop.

Decorah woman died Thursday after crash in Dubuque late Saturday. Dubuque police pulled over 22-year-old Alexandra Benson on Jackson Street. Police discovered there was an active warrant out for her in Delaware County. Benson drove off, ran a red light, and smashed into a car two blocks away. Emergency responders had to extricate Benson from the truck. Benson died from her injuries at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Thursday.
