Officials say the garbage truck pulled in front of a hay-grinder semitrailer. Investigators say the driver of the garbage truck was killed, and two other people were thrown from the garbage truck.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that 65-year-old Dennis Umbdenstock of Urbana died after the semi struck the garbage struck he was driving around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday near Vinton.
