Six-year-old Killed After Truck Crashes Through Fence

Police said it happened in 2600 block of Hickman Road. The Des Moines Police Department said a pickup truck rear-ended a mini van and veered off the road. The truck then crashed through a fence, traveled through a yard where two children were playing and went down a ditch. One child was pinned underneath the vehicle and died.

Driver sentenced in fatal backyard trampoline crash

Court records show Guadalupe Villa-Guzman was given five years in prison after pleading guilty March 22 to involuntary manslaughter.

A driver will be charged with vehicular homicide after his pickup truck crashed through two fences and killed a 6-year-old boy who was playing on a backyard trampoline Monday. The pickup driven by 44-year-old Guadalupe Villa-Guzman rear-ended another vehicle and then exited the roadway, crashed through two fences, and hit a trampoline on which two children were playing. Police say Villa-Guzman was hospitalized for a medical issue.
