The chase lasted about a minute before the suspect car headed northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, a southbound one-way street, Parizek said.
The SUV turned right onto Clark Street, where police saw that it "blew through the light" and struck a small silver BMW SUV at the intersection of 19th and Clark Streets.

“All of this could be avoided. Running from us just to avoid going to jail is not worth the risks of what just happened here,” says Sgt. Paul Parizek. “You have innocent people that are injured, and you run the risk obviously of injuring yourself. It’s just not worth the risk of trying to do this just to avoid jail.”
