An Iowa State Patrol crash report shows a Toyota van driven by Kristine Kaelin, 34, of Ottumwa was stopped on the highway yielding to make a left hand turn onto Lilac Avenue.
A Dodge van driven by Marilyn Roberts, 63, of Missouri, was also eastbound behind Kaelin's van.
The report shows Roberts failed to notice Kaelin's vehicle was stopped and swerved into the westbound lane of the highway and hit a Chevy pickup truck head-on that was driven by Forest Lawson, 82, of Bloomfield.
