Train strikes two teenage boys in Eudora

Authorities are investigating an incident where two teens were struck by a train.

Sheriff's office: 2 teens struck by train in Eudora

Sgt. Chris Morris of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said the two were hanging out on a bridge just before 4 p.m. when they saw the train coming and tried to get off the bridge in time. They were unsuccessful and were hit. 

Two boys about 16 years of age were on train tracks on a bridge when they heard an oncoming train. They attempted to outrun it but were struck. The conductor of the train called 911 as soon as he realized that the boys had been hit, and they were flown to local hospitals. Both of them sustained serious injuries. Their parents have been notified, but their identities have not yet been publicly released.
