5 cattle die, several others escape after semi overturns on Kansas highway near Wichita
A Kansas highway has reopened after cowboys helped round up cattle who escaped a semitrailer that had rolled over near Wichita.
A truck carrying about 60 cattle crashed and rolled over on Kansas 96 at about 4 a.m., killing five cattle and loosing several others to roam around the highway. The driver was not hurt in the accident. Cowboys and animal control workers were sent in to gather the animals and put them into another truck. The road was closed while the scene was cleared, and reopened around noon. Authorities say that heavy rain was falling at the time of the accident.
