Boone County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tom Scheben a tractor trailer began slowing down due construction work coming up on the highway at about 11:15 a.m. November 14. A Nissan Sentra slammed into the back of and under the tractor-trailer.
A woman was driving the car. She then veered into the median. Scheben said it appeared she didn't brake as traffic slowed.
