The initial investigation indicates a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Donnie Rains, 40, of Williamsburg, KY, was traveling north on John Sims Highway, crossed the center line, and collided head-on into the path of a 2014 Subaru XV crosstrex, traveling south, operated by Brett Smith, 46, of Crab Orchard, KY.
