Smoke from forest fires blamed for deadly crash

At least one person was killed in the 12-vehicle crash, according to WLEX[1].

Twenty people were assisted at the scene by ambulance and six patients refused treatment.

Victim In Mountain Parkway Crash Identified

Firefighters at the scene tell LEX 18 the person killed in the crash was the driver of a coal truck. They say during the multiple collisions, he got out of his truck and was hit by another vehicle. He has been identified by the Powell County coroner as Charles Turner, 65, of Breathitt County.
